Key

This piece has a lot going for it. There are a lot of accidentals than have been slipped in. I don't know if its on purpose, but it really causes the listener to cringe and get a little disoriented. I'm not sure if this was the intention or not.

If not, I'd just recommend you go through and make sure those sour notes are sticking to the key you're writing in.

Pivvot responds:

Yeah, I do have a little editing to do. As well as trying to work on the audio skipping problem stated below.

Amazing!

Good job!!! Great dynamics and composition! I like the switch to 6/8 around 1:20.

What samples do you use? This sounds great!

D3vilsheep responds:

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the meter switch -- it's a cool moment for me as well. The samples here are from EWQL libraries, such as Symphonic Gold and RA.

wow.

What samples did you use? This sounds professional! Amazing work!

reel2 responds:

I use East West library banks, my man.

Perfect.

Did you record the piano acoustically or is it a sample?

This is beautiful. Keep it up. 5/5, 10/10

MarkySpark responds:

Just me sat at the piano, Thanks for stopping by.

Performers...

This piece would be great if you had professionals playing it. The trumpets/coronets were having trouble playing in tune. The whole orchestra was kind of "meh" on dynamics, too. This is more their fault than yours I assume.

Well written, not well played. But because Its not your fault, I'll give you a 9/10, 5/5

El-Scotto1 responds:

The rehearsal and recording occurred within only one hour, so it was better than it could have been. But yeah, tuning problems were pretty noticeable.

Nice work!

I probably would have put this under Jazz instead of Classical, but I don't blame you. NGs needs more Genre categories.

Good composition. The Viola needs a better sample. It sounds like a Midi instrument of some kind at the moment. Takes away from the feel of the piece.

4/5 8/10

Sk8er4lif2 responds:

thanks, i really appreciate the criticism. i was thinking the same thing with the strings, ill see what i can do and rerecord it with something different tonight maybe. i didnt want something to high pitched because of the tone/mood of the composition, so i want to keep it low, but ill mess around a bit and see what happens.

Very good.

The beginning is very reminiscent of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata in C# Minor. Beethoven wrote that as he slipped slowly into madness after realizing he was going deaf.

The faster portion was good and with some practice/better recording this could be an exemplary piece. It's still solid, though.

LazyBucks responds:

Thanks mate.

Yea I hit a bum note here and there but its ok.
Appreciate the reviews! =)

Good Job!

I like it! This would sound very professional if the samples were less corny.

That is, by no means, an insult to you. Good samples are impossible to find for free. Basically, I'm trying to say that It is very well written and if you ever come across some amazing samples and remixed them into this song, it would be HOLLYWOOD WORTHY!

Peace!

Soundtrekker responds:

Thanks a plenty! Yeah, I mean for MIDI files, these sounds aren't bad, but that doesn't mean they're good either xD

Flute!

That is a great atmospheric flute sample! I love it!

Simple, clean, well mixed. Good job!

srzsmack responds:

thanks for the review
:D

Nice!

Better than I could ever do at DnB. It could use a little more mixing. The Triangle(I think?) Is way too loud, while the drums are way too soft for a DnB song.

However, it's music and there is no right or wrong. This is just one man's opinion :p Do what you gotta' do.

Kieda responds:

Drums too soft o_O I thought these were just cool here, not too punchy but still have enough power to drive the beat forward.

The triangles were a small thing I wanted to add, and they might be a quite loud.

Thanks for the review(:
